Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 31st August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Engineered Heat (“we”, “us”, “our”) to customers (“you”, “your”). By booking or accepting our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Services

Engineered Heat provides plumbing, heating, installation, maintenance and repair services.

The exact scope of work will be agreed with you before work begins. This may be provided by quotation, written estimate, email, message or other agreed communication.

We reserve the right to decline work where we reasonably believe that the work is unsafe, unsuitable, unlawful, outside our area of expertise, or cannot be completed to an appropriate professional standard.

2. Quotations and Estimates

a. Where a fixed quotation is provided, the quotation will describe the agreed works and the price applicable to those works.

b. Quotations are based on the information available to us at the time and may be subject to change if previously unidentified issues are discovered once work begins.

c. Any additional work or materials that are outside the original scope of the quotation will be discussed with you wherever reasonably possible before the additional work is carried out.

d. Where unforeseen work is necessary to make the system safe or to complete the agreed works, we may recommend additional work and provide an updated price.

e. Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 30 days.

3. Booking and Appointments

a. Appointments are arranged subject to availability.

b. We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time. However, appointment times may occasionally be affected by emergencies, previous jobs taking longer than expected, traffic, supplier delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

c. We will endeavour to notify you as soon as reasonably practicable if we are delayed or need to rearrange an appointment.

d. You are responsible for ensuring that we have reasonable access to the property and the areas where work is required.

4. Access to Your Property

You must provide safe and reasonable access to the property, appliances, pipework, heating systems, meters, boilers and other areas necessary to carry out the agreed work.

If access is unavailable or unsafe, the appointment may need to be rearranged and additional charges may apply where appropriate.

You must inform us of any known hazards, access restrictions or relevant issues at the property before work begins.

5. Payment

a. Payment is due in accordance with the payment terms stated on your quotation or invoice.

b. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due upon completion of the work.

c. We may require a deposit or payment in advance for certain projects, particularly where specialist equipment, materials or bespoke items need to be ordered.

d. For larger projects, staged payments may be agreed before work begins.

e. We reserve the right to charge reasonable costs incurred in recovering overdue payments.

6. Materials and Equipment

a. Where materials are supplied by Engineered Heat, we will endeavour to use suitable products of an appropriate quality for the agreed work.

b. Materials may be substituted where necessary due to availability, provided the alternative is reasonably suitable for the intended purpose.

c. If you supply your own materials, appliances or equipment, you are responsible for ensuring that they are suitable for the intended installation.

d. We cannot be responsible for defects, incompatibility or failure resulting from customer-supplied products or materials.

7. Additional and Unforeseen Work

During plumbing, heating or installation work, previously hidden or unknown problems may become apparent.

Examples may include damaged pipework, inaccessible services, inadequate existing installations, corrosion, unsafe installations, structural issues or non-compliant work carried out by previous contractors.

Where additional work is required, we will explain the issue and, wherever reasonably practicable, provide you with the additional cost before proceeding.

If immediate work is required to make an installation safe, we may need to take reasonable steps to protect people or property.

8. Gas, Heating and Safety Work

Where applicable, gas-related work will only be undertaken by an appropriately qualified and registered engineer.

We will not knowingly carry out work that would compromise the safety of a gas, heating, plumbing or electrical installation.

Where an existing installation is found to be unsafe, defective or unsuitable, we may need to stop work or recommend remedial work before the requested service can be completed.

9. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the property and the work required.

  • Provide safe access to the property.

  • Ensure that water, electricity, gas or other necessary services are available where required.

  • Inform us of any known issues, hazards or previous works that may affect the job.

  • Obtain any permissions or consents that are your responsibility, where applicable.

  • Make payment in accordance with the agreed terms.

10. Cancellations and Rearranging Appointments

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

Where an appointment has been cancelled at short notice or we have already incurred costs for materials, specialist equipment or other expenses specifically arranged for your work, reasonable charges may apply where permitted by law.

For larger projects, cancellation terms may be specified separately within the quotation or contract.

Nothing in these terms affects any cancellation rights you may have under applicable consumer law.

11. Emergency Call-Outs

Emergency call-outs are subject to availability.

An emergency attendance is intended to identify and, where reasonably possible, make safe an urgent plumbing or heating issue. It does not necessarily mean that a permanent repair can be completed during the initial visit.

Additional parts, labour or follow-up visits may be required.

Emergency call-out charges and any applicable labour or materials charges will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

12. Workmanship and Guarantees

We will carry out work with reasonable care and skill.

Where a specific workmanship guarantee is offered, the duration and terms of that guarantee will be stated on the relevant quotation or invoice.

Manufacturer warranties may apply separately to boilers, appliances, components and other products supplied.

A workmanship guarantee does not cover faults caused by misuse, accidental damage, alterations by another contractor, lack of maintenance, freezing, external damage or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

13. Existing Installations

Where we work on an existing plumbing or heating installation, we cannot guarantee the condition or performance of components that we have not supplied or installed.

Working on an older or defective system may expose pre-existing problems that were not apparent before the work commenced.

We will advise you where we identify significant concerns.

14. Damage and Making Good

We will take reasonable care when carrying out work at your property.

However, some plumbing, heating and installation work may require access through walls, floors, ceilings, cupboards or other areas.

Unless specifically agreed as part of the quotation, decorative making-good, plastering, painting, tiling, flooring or other finishing work is not included unless specified.

17. Limitation of Liability

We will be responsible for losses or damage where we are legally liable for them.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

We will not be responsible for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from defects, failures or damage that existed before we commenced work.

18. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your rights under applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

Where you are a consumer, services will be provided with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable statutory requirements.

19. Circumstances Beyond Our Control

We will not be liable for delays or failure to perform our obligations where this results from circumstances outside our reasonable control.

This may include severe weather, flooding, fire, power failure, supplier shortages, delays in obtaining parts, road closures, industrial action, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.

20. Privacy

Your personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We will only use your information as reasonably necessary to provide our services, communicate with you, process payments, maintain records and comply with our legal obligations.

21. Complaints
